Friday play ideas: Let’s get our groove on.

“ Children are born into a world of sound and movement.  Music helps their intellectual, imaginative, emotional, social and cultural growth” (Ministry of Education, ‘Play idea: Music - Waiata’, 2015).

Mōrena whānau, we hope that you are all doing well this week.  Today, Kelly and I have some awesome play ideas that you can try during the long weekend.  Dancing and playing instruments to music are two of many activities that our Westglade children enjoy.  So I thought that they would also enjoy exploring and dancing with rain sticks (tutorial below).  Please if you do get a chance to try our activities, remember to share your photos or videos with us via email or blogger.
Cheers, Charity

Good morning Whanau, I have added a link below that takes you to an awesome yoga link for little ones. It’s called cosmic kids yoga. Yoga is a great activity for the whole family, it can encourage your child to use yoga poses to gain control over their bodies and learn how to move in new and challenging ways. This video is all about old MacDonald and different farm animals, sounds and lots of singing. Hope you give it a go. It’s a lot of fun.
Enjoy, Kelly
